This is the easiest Paris cemetery to get around, in my humble
opinion. It's set-up fairly simply and is kept up very well.
This cemetery has some of my most favorite crypt doors.
Almost every one is simply beautiful. Notables buried here:
Samuel Beckett, André Citroën, Serge Gainsbourg,
Man Ray, Jean-Paul Satre, Simone de Beauvoir, Jean Seberg.

I acquired this dirt on my last visit to the cemetery in March 2007.
Each jar is filled with dirt I dug myself inside the cemetery. An
aged tag is glued onto each jar with the name of the cemetery and
the date it was dug; the tags are made to look like old specimen
tags from a museum or Victorian collection, they are actually based on an
old insane asylum medicine bottle tag from my own collection. Another aged
circle tag with a metal edge hangs from the top with a "catalog number" written on
one side and a wax seal bearing the initial of the "preparer".

This cemetery seems small and then keeps going & going & going.
What I find most fascinating about this place is that they have had to build
a freeway ramp/overpass above the cemetery. The front entrace & walkway
is located under the freeway and to try and preserve the crypts, the roadway was
built over them. It is a great visual on how new & old flourish together in Paris.
I do feel sad for the crypts you know did not make it through this update.
Notables buried here: Alexandre Dumas, Edgar Degas, François Truffaut, Hector Berlioz.

Perhaps the most famous cemetery in the world, and the most
mountainous to climb through! This is the most crowded
cemetery I have ever been too, and most of those people
only flock to Jim Morrison's grave...such a pity since his
gravesite is unbelievably boring (and gated off) yet the rest of
the cemetery is amazing in its grandiosity. Notables buried here:
Honoré de Balzac, Sarah Bernhardt, Maria Callas, Eugene Delacroix,
Isadora Duncan, Yves Montand, Édith Piaf, Marcel Proust, Simone Signoret,
Oscar Wilde, Alice B. Toklas, Gertrude Stein, Frédéric Chopin.

I acquired this dirt on my last visit to the cemetery in April 2007.

My most favorite cemetery! Besides being amazingly beautiful,
it still holds it's Victorian charm although everything is
overgrown and dilapidated. At every turn there is another
hidden walkway or another overturned headstone. You can
wander freely & explore the decaying beauty. A truly amazing place.
Notables buried here: Douglas Adams, Karl Marx, George Eliot.

Moonstone Beach ... Cambria, CA

There is nothing quite as curious, interesting, and cool as a souvenir no one else has. This is a vintage spice jar filled with sand from Moonstone Beach in Cambria, California. I dug this sand myself while vacationing in Cambria. I added a small circle tag with decoupaged paper as a label, which reads: beach sand, Moonstone Beach, Cambria, California. Cambria is a famous and beautiful little beach town near San Simeon (Hearst Mansion), not far from Carmel, Monterey, Morro Bay, and San Luis Obispo. It is a very popular tourist town and has amazing "sand".
It is really just little colored pebbles and I love it!

I love the little jar, it is so adorable and squatty! Since the stopper to this jar is glass and moveable I will seal the top with wax before shipping. If you would prefer not to have it sealed let me know and I will put the sand in a baggie for shipping. If not specified I will seal with wax.

These are so unique and a really cool item for your curiosity cabinet or oddities display,
or even just a great conversation piece.

This sand was dug by me. I have this dirt in my own collection. This is NOT dirt I dug in the backyard that I'm passing off as beach sand. I uploaded a picture I took at Moonstone Beach to show I was actually there! I have more beach sand jars coming soon so check back often!

Reynisdrangar Beach ... Iceland

There is nothing quite as curious, interesting, and cool as a souvenir no one else has. This is a vintage spice jar filled with black sand from Reynisdrangar Beach in Iceland. I dug this sand myself while vacationing in Iceland. I added a small circle tag with decoupaged paper as a label, which reads: black sand, Reynisdrangar Beach, Iceland. This specific jar is VERY limited! I don't have much of this black sand left as all my friends wanted some. It is very unique and quite interesting, not to mention beautiful!

This sand was dug by me and transported back to the U.S. in my carry-on luggage. It's always a nightmare but always worth it! I have this dirt in my own collection. This is NOT dirt I dug in the backyard that I'm passing off as beach sand. I uploaded a picture I took at Reynisdrangar Beach to show I was actually there! I have more beach sand jars coming soon so check back often!

Atlantic City, NJ

There is nothing quite as curious, interesting, and cool as a souvenir no one else has. This is a vintage spice jar filled with sand from an Atlantic City, New Jersey beach, right off the famous boardwalk. I dug this sand myself while vacationing in Atlantic City. I added a small circle tag with decoupaged paper as a label, which reads: beach sand, Atlantic City, New Jersey. The beaches in Atlantic City have the softest, finest sand I have felt. It was impossible to walk on! I also added a little black seashell inside the jar that I found on the same beach. The sea shell can be seen in the 2nd photo!
